Nakskov Fjord

At the end of Nakskov Fjord, archaeologists found a Viking village. There were farms here at the beginning of the 1000s and workshops buildings and haylofts. People lived from farming, fishing on the fjord and trade with neighbours around the Baltic coast. Today you can tour the fjord with the mail boat from Nakskov to Albuen (4½ hours), and enjoy Denmark’s most island-rich fjord from the same perspective as the Vikings.
