It is not always possible to moor Skjoldungen to a bridge. In such cases, the crew use a method called the donut method, where they throw the anchor out a little, and can haul the boat to shore when they need it. When they stayed at Risøya they used this method. They held anchor guard every hour during the night, but Skjoldungen lay securely and firmly on its position.
Back to Risør
After a day of trying to sail towards wind and current, we have returned to Risør. We have been allowed to stay overnight in an old boatyard located on an island just 100 meters from Risør. Due to the weather they will stay in Risør another day.
