Taste the Viking Age
Experience Viking Age food, and try samples from local and organic producers! The ingredients in use are all known from the Viking Age – also the ingredients the Vikings’ brought home with them from other lands.
At the festival’s food area, you can learn more about the products. You can hear all about the processes and uses of the different products. We have invited producers who are focused on improving a good meal. Come and have an enlightening chat, taste the selected products and buy something for making food in your own kitchen.
Café Knarr
The café serves food prepared with ingredients that were known to the Vikings. The food is a fusion of the ingredients of the past with modern preparation methods. The Vikings were adventurers, and thanks to their maritime culture, they had access to a wide range of ingredients, bringing many new tastes home to the North.
