Monday, July 2nd.

02:35 a.m. The wind is increasing. The wicker-band holding the rudder is fastened. Have tied the first reef. Rain.

07:35 a.m. West of Læsø. Wind fresh breeze from SE. Weatherforecast: Wind turns towards east and increases to 10-13 m/s (strong breeze) Tonight up to 15 m/s (near gale). After passing the Skaw the plan is to set course for Kristianssand in Norway.

12:00 m. Course towards Kristianssand. We tighten the shrouds.

10.00 p.m. The wind is rising. Pouring rain. Two crew-members evacuated to the support vessel. One with a knee injury, one due to freeze down.
