Before departure, the boatswain signing off went over the Sea Stallion with the boatswain signing on. The discussions primarily concerned the wear and tear of the boat as well as the small repairs made.

The battery capacity has been doubled to about 1000 AH to allow the ship longer sails without having to resort to the generator on board.

Two shroud pins port side broke under tightening of the rig and have been replaced with reserves. They are made a bit stronger. This led to a discussion about how tight the rig has to be.
