Skjoldungen had to give up the planned route and keep watch all night

After an almost perfect beginning the second day of the trial voyage has proven how challenging the waters around Greenland can be.

Yesterday Skjoldungen had to give up its planned route to the township of Alluitsup Paa. Strong winds and land breezes made it impossible to stay the course and the crew took to the coast to find shelter for the night. The night too has been challenging due to the high tides and the crew has had to take double watches and are now very tired.

The ship is now on its way to Alluitsup Paa and expect to anchor around 15.00 danish time and stay for the night.
