Kissed by the coastal fog

While we are waiting to receive photos from Greenland: Skjoldungen on a training cruise before the actual trial voyage.

Skjoldungen is docked in a small natural harbor after a long day pulling the oars and being kissed by the coastal fog.

Weather is nice in Greenland these days. Really nice, with blue skies, warm temperatures and almost no wind. If you should do anything else but sail a small vikingship up the coast, conditions would be perfect. But actually the crew wish for a little bit more wind. And preferably from south.

Almost all day yesterday (monday) was spent behind the oars experiencing the beauty of nature, marvel at the sight of a small polar fox and passing an abandoned settlement. Skjoldungen also got a cold kiss from the coastal fog that rolled in and quite quickly disappeared again.

The crew spent the night in a - with their own wording - very, very nice natural harbor and today they will be moving north, as far as they can get, towards Paamiut.
