General Terms and Conditions

Request for booking events at the Viking Ship Museum is made via email at booking(at)vikingeskibsmuseet.dk or by completing the relevant forms available at the Viking Ship Museum.

In general

  • Agreements are considered binding once the museum has sent an order confirmation.
  • Cancellation/changes must be made in writing to booking(at)vikingeskibsmuseet.dk.
  • Cancellation/change of events can be made free of charge up to five weeks before the start of the event.
  • Cancellation/change of events later than five weeks and up to two weeks before the start of the event will incur a charge of 50% of the event price.
  • Cancellation/change of events later than two weeks before the start of the event will incur a charge of the full price.
  • Reduction in the number of participants of less than 10% is accepted free of charge up to the start of the event.
  • Reduction in the number of participants of more than 10% follows the museum’s cancellation terms.
  • Admission is always adjusted according to the actual number of attendees on the day of the event.
  • For events that include several different services, the museum’s general terms apply to the entire event.
  • In case of no-show, the museum is entitled to full payment for the entire event.
  • Discounts cannot be combined.
  • Gift cards purchased at the Viking Ship Museum can be used at the museum’s ticket office and shop.

Special terms for sailing

  • For bookings that include sailing, the museum reserves the right to cancel the sailing if it cannot be carried out. In such cases, no payment will be charged for the sailing.
  • For bookings that include sailing, please note that sailings take place in both rain and wind as long as safety permits, and no refund will be given if the guest chooses not to participate. It is also the guest’s own responsibility to be appropriately dressed for the weather, and no refund will be given due to discomfort caused by incorrect/inadequate clothing.
  • For bookings that include sailing, the museum reserves the right to cancel if guests do not comply with the applicable safety requirements on board. In such cases, payment for the sailing will still be charged.
  • For bookings that include group sailing, a starting price equivalent to a minimum of 8 adults will be charged, regardless of whether the group consists of fewer people.

Special terms for table reservations at Café Knarr

  • Cancellation of a regular table reservation with catering from Café Knarr for fewer than 20 people can be made free of charge up to one week before the event. After this, the full price will be charged.
  • Reduction in the number of guests for more than 20 people follows the museum’s general terms.
  • For table reservations or catering for groups at Café Knarr, payment can only be made collectively.
