General Terms and Conditions
Once you have completed a booking and selected your payment method, you will receive an order confirmation by email.
Your booking is only valid upon receipt of an order confirmation. If you do not receive a confirmation, or if an error occurs during the booking process, it is your responsibility to contact us to ensure that the booking has been completed correctly.The Viking Ship Museum cannot be held liable for any loss related to bookings where no valid order confirmation has been issued.
Admission
Admission is generally charged based on the actual number of attendees, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Admission is a prerequisite for participation in the event and cannot be cancelled separately.
Services in Addition to Admission
All services beyond admission are charged in accordance with the agreed terms and are subject to the conditions below.
Changes and Cancellation
We understand that plans may change. The following terms apply to changes and cancellations:
- Up to 5 weeks before the event: Changes or cancellations free of charge
- Between 5 and 2 weeks before the event: 50% of the agreed event price will be charged
- Less than 2 weeks before the event: 100% of the agreed event price will be charged
These terms also apply to events with participant-based payments.
No-show
In case of non-attendance, the full price of the event will be charged.
Arrival and Registration
The customer is responsible for:
- reporting arrival at the designated meeting point before the event starts
- registering and paying for the final number of participants before the event or first activity begins
Failure to register does not exempt the customer from payment in accordance with the agreed terms.
Special Terms for Sailing
- For events including sailing, the following applies:
- Sailing may be cancelled or interrupted due to safety concerns, including weather conditions
- If cancelled by the museum, the sailing portion will be refunded
- Sailing takes place in rain and wind as long as safety permits
- No refund is given if guests choose not to participate
- Guests must be dressed appropriately for weather and safety requirements
- Guests who do not follow safety instructions may be refused participation without refund
Group sailing is charged at a minimum rate equivalent to 8 adult participants.
Café Knarr – Table Reservations
- Cancellation of a regular table reservation with catering from Café Knarr for fewer than 20 people can be made free of charge up to one week before the event. After this, the full price will be charged.
- Reduction in the number of guests for more than 20 people follows the museum’s general terms.
- For table reservations or catering for groups at Café Knarr, payment can only be made collectively.
Other Terms
- Discounts cannot be combined
- Gift cards can be used in accordance with their validity conditions
Liability
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure participants arrive on time. Delays do not extend the duration of the event.
The Viking Ship Museum cannot be held liable for:
- non-attendance
- late arrival
- incorrect participant numbers
- errors in customer-provided information or systems
