The Viking Ship Museum offers a number of courses that provide insight into the maritime skills of the Vikings.
This summer, we are once again offering the much sought-after full-day course ‘Learn to sail a Viking ship’, where participants learn how to sail a Viking ship using the special square sail technique.

The Viking Ship Museum offers this full-day course for those who want to try their hand at sailing a Viking ship.
A great sailing experience awaits you, because this is the real thing when students board the fishing boat ‘Kraka Fyr’ or the warship ‘Helge Ask’.

You can safely step aboard the Viking Ship Museum's vessels. We have done everything necessary to ensure that the sailings are carried out in a safe and secure manner, so that the experience and joy of sailing is optimal for you as a passenger.

Daily summer sailings
Join one of the daily sailings from 01 May - 30 September and experience what it was like to be a Viking on board one of the Viking Ship Museum's traditional Nordic boats.
Evening trips on the fjord
Sail into the sunset while experiencing the special atmosphere on the water as day turns to evening.
Along the way, the skipper will tell you about the museum's special work to preserve the Nordic cultural heritage.
