The sailing season has ended for this year

A heartfelt thank you to the more than 12,000 guests who joined us on the fjord this season!
We’ve set out from the Museum Harbour over 800 times in our clinker-built Nordic wooden boats – and every single trip has been a hands-on experience, where guests helped row and hoist the sail.

Over the winter, the boats are brought ashore, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back on board when the sailing season begins.

From 1 May to 30 September 2026, you can once again row and sail in one of the traditional Nordic wooden boats – descendants of the Viking ships.
Admission to the Viking Ship Museum is included in the ticket price.

Tickets will be available here on the site as we get closer to the season.

In the meantime, there are plenty of other exciting activities and experiences to explore at the museum – both indoors and outdoors.
