Guided tours about the Viking ships
Over 1,000 years ago, the Vikings sailed along the coasts of Europe, up rivers and across open seas in their impressive ships.
Only a few of the famous Viking ships have survived to this day. At the Viking Ship Museum, you can experience the five original ships that were discovered and excavated in Roskilde Fjord, the so-called Skuldelev Ships.
The ships vary in size, shape and function, and their differences reveal important details about the maritime world of the Vikings. Together, they offer a unique insight into a time when ships were the key to trade, warfare, travel and exploration and helped shape the Scandinavian kingdoms.

Guided tours in every season
The Viking Ship Museum offers special guided tours both indoors and outdoors, all year round.
The tours are tailored to the season, and all of them are based on the five original Viking ships on display at the Viking Ship Museum.
Family activities all year around
There are always exciting activities for the whole family.
During school holidays and the summer months, there will be a range of seasonal activities designed especially for children, where Viking myths, voyages and life at sea are brought to life through storytelling and hands-on experiences.
Groups are advised to book a private guided tour
There are limited spaces on the daily guided tours, so if you're visiting with a larger group, it's best to book your tour in advance.
The guides will decide whether there is room for groups on the scheduled tours of the day.
