Anniversary voyage with The Sea Stallion
Anniversary voyage 8th-28th July 2012
The Viking Ship Museum celebrates the 50th anniversary of the excavation of the Skuldelev ships with the Anniversary voyage from Roskilde to Haithabu. The Sea Stallion from Glendalough is a reconstruction based on the 30 metre-long warship, Skuldelev 2, which is on display at the Viking Ship Museum. The original ship was built by Scandinavian Vikings in Dublin in 1042. The Sea Stallion was launched from the Viking ShipMuseum’s boatyard in 2004 and in 2007 - 2008 the ship sailed from Roskilde to Dublin and back.
