The Rune Stone at Ådum Church

In East Jutland there are rune stones almost everywhere you look, but on the same latitude further west, rune stones are remarkably absent – only two stones have been found.  From south to north, the first rune stone you reach is in the churchyard of Ådum Church, just under 15km east of Ringkøbing Fjord.  This stone dates from the last part of the Viking Age, and bears the runic inscription: “Thorulv raised the stone in memory of Toke Tokeson, the best (?). May God help his ... [soul].”
