Repair day in Hou

Published 10th Jul 2015

Thursday was a windy day and the Sea Stallion stayed in Hou and spent the day repairing the rudder and antenna.

The problem with the rudder has been the rudder withy. It broke. A withy is - simply put - a small tree twisted around itself to make a kind of rope. The root of the tree serves as a knot when fastening the rudder to the hull with the withy. It is quite normal that the withy breaks and there are several backup withies on board the Sea Stallion.
