The Mystery in the Deep: For 600 years, the sea has hidden a secret

For six centuries, a shipwreck lay buried under sand and silt in the waters off Copenhagen. Maritime archaeologists from the Viking Ship Museum have discovered and excavated the medieval vessel, which has now been confirmed as the world’s largest cog.

On 28 December, the DR documentary The Mystery in the Deep premieres on DRTV. Across four episodes, historian Cecilie Nielsen follows the excavation and exploration of this sensational ship find.
