The Viking Ship Museum's website Havhingsten.dk has by now had 1,6 million visits, and has been nominated for an international award for the best communication of knowledge on the internet. The award is founded by Kofi Anan and the UN.

The award is given every other year by the World Summit Award <link http: www.wsis-award.org>www.wsis-award.org, which belong under the UN.

The purpose of the World Summit Award is to promote good multimedia communication and honour creative and innovative ideas. At the last prize-giving in 2005, more than 20.000 projects were nominated, so there is a long way from being nominated to winning the award.

Qualified projects are recommended to the WSA-award by experts from 168 countries. Some of the categories are culture, teaching, entertainment, science, health and business.

World Summit Award opened for nominations for the 2007-award on July 2nd, just after the Sea Stallion had begun it's six week long voyage from Roskilde to Dublin.

And whether the website is voted among the winners in World Summit Award or not, the website is already a succes. During the voyage from Denmark to Ireland the website had 310.000 different visitors.
