This summer, it is possible to pre-purchase tickets for the 10.30 and 11:00 boat trip on Roskilde Fjord.

The Viking Ship Museum is the only place in the world where you can experience seeing 1000-year-old Viking ships, and then go directly out to the Museum harbour, where the full-scale reconstructed Viking ships lie moored at the quayside. The Viking Ship Museum invites its guests to take part in unique sailing trips with either Viking ships or traditional Nordic boats, which are the descendents of the Vikings’ ships.

Make sure to take part in this unique experience by pre-purchase your sailing ticket. All summer, you can buy your ticket for the 10.30 and 11:00 sailing from home.
The number of seats on the first sailing is from 12 to 16 seats. Max. 4 tickets per reservation.

Other departures are sold on the day at the Ticket office on a 'first come, first served' basis.

Facts about the boat trips:

Trips take approx. 50 minutes, including allocation of life jackets and an introduction to the ship and rowing technique.
Museum guests crew the boat and have to take an active part in the sailing, including rowing out of the harbour, setting the sail and perhaps also manning the rudder. Every sailing trip is lead by an experienced sailing instructor.

Children on board: There are a limited number of places available for children (between 4 and ca. 14 years old) and others who cannot row. Unfortunately, children under the age of four cannot participate. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
