After four days in Denmark because of illness in his family, skipper Carsten Hvid arrived late yesterday evening in Lowestoft, on the English North Sea coast, where the Sea Stallion is waiting for the right wind to cross the North Sea.
Early this morning, Carsten Hvid assumed command of the ship again from first mate Vibeke Bischoff, who had been responsible for the vessel in his absence and sailed the ship from Ramsgate to Lowestoft.
At a meeting after breakfast, the crew were told that it is still unclear when the ship will sail and that the weather forecasts will be studied intensely during the day. A major problem is that the meteorologists promise easterly winds in a couple of days’ time. It takes about four days to cross the North Sea.
