The Beach meadow:
- Bake birch biscuits over the fire
- Test yourselves in the Viking games
- Step aboard a Viking ship
- Fight with sword and shield
- Meet the Viking warrior demonstrating his weapons
The Boatyard:
- The boatbuilders are working on the reconstruction of the Skuldelev 5 longship
- Build a boat workshop
- Exhibitions about tools, materials, and the Nordic boat
The Viking Ship Hall:
- The Hamlet – a children’s universe in the lower floor
- Step Aboard – an experience universe
- In the Wake of the Vikings – exhibition about the excavation of the Skuldelev ships
- Museum Mystery, a digital game for children
- Free audio guide with tracks for children and adults
- Introductory film about the discovery of the Skuldelev ships
- Museum shop with great autumn goods
Café Knarr on the Museum Island:

Five original Viking Ships
Step into the Viking Age and explore five original ships from Roskilde Fjord. Each ship reveals a unique story of trade, warfare, and life at sea—offering a fascinating glimpse into Viking maritime culture.
Visit the Hamlet
Pack a chest for the merchant, tuck the wooden dolls under a goatskin blanket, or prepare a festive meal over the hearth for those returning from voyages.
